As the country’s greatest military spectacle prepares to get underway, we take a look at this amazing celebration of the Armed Forces.
Rooted in Scottish tradition, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual extravaganza featuring world-class military displays for the public to enjoy.
The event runs from 2 – 24 August and is driven by a mission to bring together military and civil societies, along with Scotland, Britain and the international community.
First held in 1950, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is a real highlight of the military calendar and supports a number of charities, including the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, the Soldier’s Charity and the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund.
If you’d like to be part of this amazing spectacle, you can find out more and book your tickets via the website www.edintattoo.co.uk.
There will, of course, be a huge number of Armed Forces personnel appearing and working at the event. We believe that the Armed Forces should be celebrated and supported in every way possible, which is why we work with serving members to ensure they claim the tax relief to which they’re entitled.
So, if you will be working in Edinburgh as a temporary work placement during the Tattoo – regardless of whether you’re a member of the Armed Forces or work in a different field – don’t forget to check whether you could claim a tax refund for travel costs.
You could claim if you travel to temporary workplaces in your own vehicle or on public transport. We understand that the summer is a very busy time, so we can take care of the entire tax refund claim for you and liaise with HMRC on your behalf.
