On Thursday June 21 we were delighted to volunteer our time to the TFL Collection Day for Armed Forces charity, Help for Heroes.

As tax refund specialists, we work with many members of the British Armed Forces, so it was our great pleasure to take part in the latest drive to raise money for a thoroughly deserving cause.

In the run-up to Armed Forces Day (June 30), Help for Heroes called for volunteers to help collect donations from the public at various London underground stations. Help for Heroes supports those with injuries or illnesses attributable to their time in the British Armed Forces, so we were keen to raise money for and awareness of their valuable work.

Two members of the JNR Accounting team, Jane and Sue, were up bright and early to collect donations at Victoria tube station during Thursday morning’s rush hour. As you can see, they had a brilliant time and met some very colourful characters!

We’ll have to wait and see how much money was raised by the network of willing volunteers who collected across London. But passers-by donated generously throughout the collection period, so we hope that this initiative will generate lots of cash to help the people who have put their lives on the line in service of their country.

Meanwhile, we’ll continue to do our part in supporting serving members of the Armed Forces by ensuring that they receive all the tax relief to which they’re entitled. If you’re travelling to temporary workplaces in your own vehicle or via public transport, you could be owed a tax refund. Get in touch with us today to find out if you could claim.
